Relación entre condición corporal y eficiencia reproductiva en vacas holstein
Resumen
En la actualidad, uno de los mayores problemas que afectan los
parámetros económicos en los hatos lecheros, son los índices de efi-
ciencia reproductiva, la cual, se ve afectada por varios aspectos entre
ellos, el más importante el aspecto nutricional, el cual está supeditado a
estrictos balances en la dieta, principalmente energía-proteína. Los re-
gistros de condición corporal son una herramienta que por más de 25
años ha sido evaluada y correlacionada con parámetros reproductivos y
productivos, se presenta como la forma más fácil, económica y subjeti-
va para medir en forma cuantificable dichas relaciones. El correcto ma-
nejo de esta herramienta depende de la experiencia y manejo de los
datos por parte del productor, técnico o asesor, con lo cual podemos
ajustar prácticas de manejo para mejorar los parámetros del hato espe-
cialmente en lo referente a nutrición y reproducción. El objetivo de este
documento, es el de hacer una revisión del estado del arte, enfocando el
tema a la relación existente entre condición corporal y eficiencia
reproductiva en vacas Holstein.
