First record of Anolis huilae Williams, 1982 (Squamata: Anolidae) from department of Cauca, Colombia

Keywords: Lizards, Reptiles, Geographic distribution, Magdalena Basin, Colombian Massif

Abstract

Anolis huilae is an endemic and little-known species from sub-Andean forest of Magdalena river basin, being registered in the departments Huila and Tolima. Here, we present the first record of this species for the eastern region of the department of Cauca, based on a specimen obtained in explorations carried out in the municipality of Inzá, in the upper part of the Magdalena river basin. In addition, we rectify the geographic information of the historical localities and suggest collecting specimens in some additional localities, since it is necessary to validate the presence of this species in ecosystems outside its distribution range.
