Tuberculosis vertebral y absceso del psoas: reporte de caso
Resumen
Se presenta el caso de un paciente de sexo masculino de 33 años, ex recluso, drogodependiente, desnutrido, con cuadro de dolor lumbar intenso y paraplejia. La Tomografía Axial Computarizada (TAC) revela lesiones líticas en cuerpo vertebral de T11 y una lesión compatible con absceso del psoas. Estos hallazgos se asociaron al antecedente de contacto con personas con Tuberculosis (TB), sugirieron el diagnóstico de TB vertebral que se confirma por histología y cultivo. Conclusión: TB vertebral debe formar parte del diagnóstico diferencial en pacientes con sintomatología como la presentada en este caso, en especial en zonas de alta prevalencia. La TAC y la Resonancia Magnética (RM) son herramientas de primera línea en el diagnóstico de esta patología, la cual se debe confirmar con histología y cultivo.
