The indiscriminate use of antibiotics has generated a serious public health problem due to the increase in bacterial resistance. The production of AmpC-type beta-lactamases by some bacteria forms part of the mechanisms of bacterial resistance; These enzymes are characterized by being active against penicillins, cephalosporins and some combinations of B-lactam antibiotics plus inhibitors.
