The land of cork is also the land of snakes: ophidian fauna of the municipality of Neira, Caldas, Colombia
Abstract
One of the least studied groups of fauna in the municipality of Neira (Caldas) are snakes. In order to present an updated list of snakes for the municipality, diurnal and nocturnal sampling was carried out between October 15, 2022 and March 30, 2023. A total of 33 individuals belonging to 18 species, 15 genera and four families were recorded. The highest representation of species corresponds to the Colubridae family with 16 spp. With these results the species richness for the municipality of Neira - Caldas is currently represented by 24 species.
