Isotermas de adsorción de bioplásticos de harina de yuca moldeados por compresión

Resumen

Se evaluó la adsorción de agua y el calor isostérico de bioplásticos elabora- dos con harina de dos variedades de yuca (CM 7951-5 y MBRA 383), polvillo de fique y glicerol con la técnica de moldeo por compresión. Las isotermas de adsorción de las muestras poliméricas se realizaron a 15, 25, y 35°C en valores de actividad de agua que variaron entre 0.12 y 0.98, usando un mé- todo gravimétrico. Los valores experimentales de adsorción de agua fueron ajustados usando los modelos de GAB, Caurie, Oswin, Smith, Henderson y Peleg. El calor isostérico de adsorción (Qst) se determinó mediante la ecuación de Clausius-Clapeyron. Los resultados mostraron que el modelo de Peleg se ajustó adecuadamente a valores experimentales de adsorción a 15, 25 y 35°C en las muestras elaboradas con la variedad CM 7951-5 y a 15 y 25°C para la variedad MBRA 383, mientras que el modelo de GAB fue a 35°C para MBRA 383. El calor isostérico de sorción disminuyó con el incremento en el contenido de humedad de equilibrio alcanzándose un valor máximo de 87 Kj/mol y 78 Kj/mol y un mínimo de 44.6 Kj/mol y 44.5 Kj/mol en las muestras elaboradas con CM 7951-5 y MBRA 383 respectivamente.
